     I think one of the biggest things to over come is the lack of knowledge 
of other Iris types.  In the deep south [climates in which alligators are 
found] TB Irises tend to be unreliable.  Here in Florida, most gardeners 
assume that all Irises will not grow here because they have failed too many 
times with mass marketed packaged TB Irises.  
     As my Louisiana Irises and types of Iris virginica and Iris pseudacorus 
increase, I will share the extras with local gardeners who are willing to 
give them a try.  A few gardeners know of these plants, but most don't, and 
there is no organized way to promote them yet.
