The following is a quotation from page 13 of the AIS Judges' Handbook:
"The only way to know irises is to grow them. Each judge has an obligation
to maintain a representative collection of iris types that can be grown in
his/her area and to add some new irises each year."
Maybe one way to get more people to grow a greater variety of irses would
be to make them judges.
