Re: AIS: The Iris Show..Some Thoughts

There are those, myself included, who would as soon not take the time, hassle, and making holes in the garden that shows require, but we think it is the best way to educate the public.  Loving competition or loving shows for their own sake has nothing whatever to do with it.  I know, from the experience of our club, the benefits that have come from the shows, both in terms of good, new, enthusiastic members--quite a few of them--and in the number of people who show up at our sales/auctions because they found out about them from the literature we had available at the show.
