SIGNA is probably the best source for the species forms of irises.
Although they are only available through the seed exchange. If you want to
buy mature plants you'll have to get them from nurseries. Some of my
favorite are:

Nicholl's Gardens (Gainesville, VA)
http://www.he.net/~ngardens/
nichollsgardens@usa.net
(a good selection of the more common crested & beardless species)

Munchkin Nursery (Depauw, IN)
http://www.munchkinnursery.com/
genebush@munchkinnursery.com
(a nice selection of hard-to-find & common native beardless species)

Iris City Gardens (Nashville, TN)
http://www.iriscitygardens.com/
icity@msn.com
(an impressive selection of crested irises, and water-loving beardless species)

These are just a few from off the top of my head, I'm sure there are lots
of others. Anybody else care to add to this list? Another good source for
finding mail-order sources of garden plants is http://www.plant-finder.com/
but you have to know the name of the plant you're looking for to use that
web site effectively.
