Perhaps pallida dalmatica was on the list of lost irises because it was
given away rather than because it died.  Even way back then, it must
have been considered old and out of style by the standards of the time
and maybe was pitched to make room for fancier cultivars, only to be
regretted later.  Just as some listers have posted regrets of pitching
un-named or older cultivars to make room for named new ones.

watching rebloom stalks form on 3 cultivars after several dips to 20oF
that killed all existing rebloom stalks - SUMMER OLYMPICS, OCTOBER
SPLENDOR, and maybe one of Mike Sutton's seedlings (!).  Crazy irises...
