Re: OT: Meteorites at 10 o'clock!

Hi Lynn and all those others interested in the Meteorite shower,

The Leonid Meteorite shower has been having a great old time down here
leaving a trail of debris all over the Land of Oz.

A few days ago one meteorite was seen by half of northern New South Wales.
As it finally made a bee-line for a small town's water supply its last fews
gasps of light were filmed by the entire town which thought that
Independence Day had arrived! I kid you not!

Police etc. were flooded (sorry, no pun intended!) with calls and sightings
of Extra Terrestrials were a dime a dozen. Mayhem soon followed.

Today there have been reports of more meteorites falling on to golf courses,
careering into rooves of houses and felling trees as they meet their end.

The local TV stations were talking all about our "terrestrial visitors" and
this caused more than its fair share of medical emergencies in old-aged
peoples homes so they are now calling them part of the meteor shower
nstead - much more calming for people!

Talk about walking on the wild side!

Meanwhile Hurricane "John" has just hit the Pilbara region of northern
Western Australia and caused some pretty nasty havoc of its own. It is a
Class 5 Hurricane and has left a lot of destruction in its wake. The entire
population of one remote town had to hunker down in an unused shipping
container - that was the only thing left standing that could protect them!
Yikes!

So what with Meteorites showering down and Hurricanes blowing things away
Christmas in the Land of Oz. may be more interesting than usual!

Cheers for now,
Heather
