I first saw a virused AZ AP at a show 3 or 4 years ago.

Arils and arilbreds are unfortunately quite prone to viruses.  Some varieties 
that have been around a long time show streaks on the petals apparently from 
virus.  Other virus seems to attach the whole plant destructively.  I believe 
that the famous oncocyclus i. susiana is thought to be extinct due to virus 
infection.
