Thanks Jeff - I had forgotten SDBs came from MDBsXTBs. Also that pumila
is an MDB! Yikes, the ol gray matter is loosing stuff faster than I can
pack it in these days.
MUSIC CHILD (IB) = MELODIC (SDB) X ELECTRIQUE (TB)
MELODIC = OLADI (SDB) X (PEACH EYES SDB x KANDI MOON SDB)
There is quite a bit of inbreeding (?is that the right term? crosses
back and forth involving the same cultivars) from there on back.
Cultivars that show up several places are
LENNA M (which is a an SDB from an unnamed TB seedling X BARIUM GOLD,
which is an MDB from I. carpathia)
SERENITY (SDB) from MINNIE COLQUITT (TB ?from I. variegata breeding) &
other unnamed stuff
REGARDS (SDB) from CHERRY FALLS (forgot to look that one up), Cook
seedling 1546 (wonder what kind of critter this might have been - he
seems to have made as many wierd crosses as Hager did), EVENING STORM
(also forgot to look up) and I. pumila
DOVE WINGS (SDB) from BARIUM GOLD (MDB), TWILIGHT SKY (TB from PINK
CAMEO and other Hall pinks - I think these are from I. variegata also?),
DESERT SONG (forgot to look up), and an unnamed white I.pumila)
CAPRICORNIA (SDB) goes back aways to RED HEART (SDB) from SNOW FLURRY
(TB), SEA O BLUE (I. pumila), LILLI-VAR which is from (an unnamed pink
TB X I. carpathia) crossed with a sibling.
Anyhoo, lots of strange stuff stirred around together there.
Anybody know of a US source for MELODIC?
