Winter! What winter? Like you, we have had very little cold weather or
consistent rain for the last 2 or 3 years. I'm getting a little tired of it
too. The grasshoppers they say will be unbearable if we don't get some hard
freezes. GLOBAL WARMING EXISTS!!
The iris here are trying to perk up, but I'm busily throwing ice on the
field <haha>. Anyway, they're so tough I'm sure they won't die, but the
bloom will surely suffer.

The groundhog says more winter! Winter like we haven't had? Then
I'll be okay. Real winter? Reduced bloom - and that combined with
drought conditions would surely limit my irises this spring. I guess the
benefit of reduced expectations is one tends to be even more grateful
for those that manage and bloom despite the conditions.
