Mike,
I sent Cindy a private reply to her message. Just to let you know, the
program is MIMESweeper, which does many things, and ChineseWall is the name
of the job that was set up as part of MIMESweeper to root out those nasty
little abbreviations of scientific words that people may find to be
offensive. In fact, I've got to set up MIMESweeper for a client sometime in
the near future. Actually, it has been some time in the near future for the
past six months, and they will want it yesterday when they are finally ready
to go with it.

No, it was generated by a "Politically Correct" screening program.
One of the members of this mailing list is "PROTECTED" from receiving
any email that is deemed to be 'discriminatory, hateful, vulgar,
pornographic, sexually-explicit, or obscene'. What happened is that
this "Politically Correct" screening program ('FireWall' or
'ChineseWall' or 'PCorrectWall' or 'ChildSafeWall' or 'PornMasher' or
a host of other such 'blocking' programs) discovered the letters
'jap' in your message -- ran this against its internal list of
'discriminatory, hateful, vulgar, pornographic, sexually-explicit, or
obscene' terms and blocked the message. (and sent its smug PC
conclusion back to you)
Nearly all of these programs will block a message containing for
instance, 'breast cancer' because the word 'breast' sets off the
alarm. The creators of such trash are mostly brain dead because they
will not include algorithms in their programs that test to see if,
for instance, the term 'breast' is within 20 characters of the term
'cancer' and so on.
A NonPC Mike
