Damping off is very prevalent in MS with bearded seeds. I had few
experiences with it in Texas.
The following helps.
1. Incorporate terrachlor in your potting medium when you plant.
2. Cover top part of pot with play sand (this is sterile).
3. In January sprinkle some terrachlor on top of the pots.
4. When seeds sprout, sprinkle a little more terrachlor on top.
This procedure has saved a lot of seedlings for me.
