Anner, Bill, Walter,et. al:
A couple of years ago I received a call from Bennett Jones. He seemed to
be very upset because his newly germinated seedlings were falling over
and this had never occurred to him before. From his description it did
indeed sound like damping off. His seedlings were germinated
out-of-doors rather than in a greenhouse or cold frame with bottom heat.
I drove to Bennett's with my Terra-Chlor and applied about 3 gallons of
suspension from a standard watering can. Whether or not damping off was
the culprit, the TC solved his problem.
Walter: I suspect you are really wasting your TC by using it as often as
you do. Would it not be more efficacious to apply it when you water your
newly germinated seedlings, assuming that you are using a sterile mix
for potting.? Also, at what concentration are you mixing the TC with
your potting mix, and how much do you dust on top of the pots?

Molalla, Oregon zone 7/8ish who, on Feb 5th, held the Bee Warburton
Medal in his hot little hands. As one who was intimately involved with
the development, design and striking of the Morgan-Wood Medal I applaud
those who did the same on the Warburton Medal. It is a trophy well worth
winning!!
