Not that I don't believe it, but I don't believe it. ;-)
I have never heard of elemental silicon being found in nature, whether
biological or mineral.
Any chance this should be "silica," which is silicon dioxide, as in
quartz, flint, normal sand, etc.?
I hope that my doubts are wrong, since this would be a most interesting
fact to add to my store of useless data.
