Hi Colleen and others.
Unhappy to report some four and a half inches of rain fell in Sunraysia
right at the commencement of the grape harvesting season just over a week
ago. Over 40 C the day before and high humidity since. Disaster all round.
Needless to say we are once again salvaging our grapes as are most
grapegrowers in the area. One place in the Riverland of South Australia
recorded nine inches. For us this brings the total rainfall on our place to
close to ten inches since Christmas. The annual rainfall here in a really
wet year for us is ten or eleven inches and sometimes only four or five.
And now the wretched mozzies are making our lives miserable as well! Oh
well, life wasn't meant to be easy but it didn't have to be this hard two
years in a row.
