Walter, a few years ago I made a plea each spring (in the regional
newsletter) for judges to take a note book and pen when they went to a
hybridizer's garden. Most rarely did. After all, few of us are able to
retain the letter's or numbers used to identify seedlings. If you can't
remember the identifying #'s you can't vote the H.C.

When I was at Alvaton, many of the judges that judged our show came out to my
garden, and a few visited that were just passing through. But, now that I'm
so much closer to the show, I no longer get visits. Of course, my seedling
bed is much smaller now. Maybe next year, when the 2000 crop blooms out at
Bingham's place. <Sigh!>

No repeat visits though. I can't get local judges to do that.
