Yes, each region develops it's own schedule of training. It will
likely be printed in a region bulletin. Each region may have a Judges'
training chair, or if not, the RVP would probably know the schedules.
There probably is an application form to complete in order to become
enrolled in the judges' training program. One can take judges' training
in a different region or at the national level and still get credit within
their local program.
A.I.S. and each region has a set of requirements to complete for each
phase of judge's training. The requirements are there to ensure that the
student or apprentice gets training in specific subjects as well as a broad
area of knowledge. A.I.S. has a handbook for Judges and Show Official; it
is a good starting source which explains the program, and it is a
requirement for any student enrolled in the training program to have their
own copy. They can be purchased from the A.I.S. Storefront.
