TB:black spots

After our first thaw in PA., we have noticed some of the iris leaf
remaining have a slight black spot on them. With our overly wet summer
in 2000 we struggled with this throughout the season. Should the
remaining leaf be cut off now, or will it die back. Should treatment of
the spot be started now , or wait til the new leaves have emerged to a
certain height? Our weather varies so much, that its hard to decide how
and when to treat. We went from a 60 degree day, a spring teaser, to
30's, the real thing. The rhizomes are good and firm, so there is no
problem there.
