Denise, you are not the first to find iris tucked away in the garage
months after they were dug. A "few" years ago I dug an order for a
garden visitor who never showed up to collect them, and my father
tucked the paper bag up over the carpenter bench. I found them late
the following June--rather dried out from the year's stay in that
unheated Idaho garage.
I peeled off the dead foliage and planted them. Within days some of
them were actively growing. How "few" years ago can be judged from
this--one of the purchases was Prairie Sunset. It bloomed the
following month.
