Hi
The Iris in question is Besotted )Border Bearded)
Barry Blyth >>
Walter & Barry -- Thanks!
The flower in the photo bears a strong resemblance to a pattern I've often
observed in my AB seedling patch, in which the signal spot is so large that
it approaches a halo pattern and thus loses its characteristic "onco look".
I noticed this first among the ABMs with pumila heritage, where the two
patterns were superimposed but from a distance the pumila spot overwhelmed
the onco signal. It has also shown up more recently, however, among those
with only aril & TB ancestry.
Wonder what would happen if the ZING ME line were crossed with ABs.....
BTW, Barry's SOSTENIQUE is still my all-time champ for producing quarterbreds
with good signal spots.
