Judges training weekend
March 23-24 2002
Location: Royal Botanical Gardens, Burlington Ontario
The Canadian Iris Society and Region 16 of the American Iris Society
announce a judges' training weekend on Saturday and Sunday, March 23-24
to take place at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington, Ontario. Six
training sessions will be provided totaling ten hours over the weekend.
The following schedule is subject to change due to travel requirements
and other commitments!
Saturday March 23 2002:
10:00 - 10:10 Introductions and Welcoming Remarks (Sandy Ives RVP Region
16)
10:15 - Lunch Miniature Dwarf Bearded iris (Dorothy and Tony Willot of
Region 6)
1:30 - 3:00 Standard Dwarf Bearded iris (Chuck Chapman of Region 16)
3:30 - 5:00 Miniature Tall Bearded iris (Maureen Mark of Region 16)
Sunday March 24 2002:
10:00 - Lunch Japanese Iris (Peter Weixlmann of Region 2)
1:00 - 2:30 The Big Show, and how to make it a success (Carolyn
Schaffner of Region 2)
3:00 - 4:30 Intermediate Bearded iris (Sandy Ives RVP Region 16)
A special invitation is issued to those student and apprentice AIS
judges of all regions. This is an excellent opportunity to pick up
significant classroom training hours in order to progress to the next
level.
There is no charge for attending the sessions, but attendees will be
responsible for their meals and accommodations.
