Yes, it is a late bloomer.
I tried selfing the clone and got no takes. It does have pollen.
The anthers are small, pollen very fine textured. The plant
character and foliage color is almost pure variegata, just stretched
upward. PBF too, if I remember ( not obvious right now on the new
growth ). There's a fair amount of yellow in with the blue-violet in
the standards--more grey than blue in effect. With the thin
substance, plant character and such it appears to be pure variegata-
pallida hybrid in origin. There's no suggestion of tetraploid
chracter. It also seems immune to everything--no borer, no rots.
Slow increase where I have it (too much shade). I'll compare the
original scan--much cleaner than what appears in Iris-photos with
your Mallorn reference of May 10 and get back.
