Re: CULT: Nutsedge control

I also used it late last summer on a badly infested LA bed and in spots around TBs. Nutsedge died, all irises fine.

Subject: Nutsedge control

I live in Kansas City. Two years ago I moved into a house that has a
large, old bed of bearded iris. Last summer it was badly infested
with Yellow Nutsedge (Cyperus esculentus) AKA Nutgrass. I'm
considering controlling it with Manage(halosulfuron), but I'm not
sure if it's okay to apply Manage to Iris. Have any list members
used it?
Yes I used it last fall to eliminate nut sedge from my beds. Did not hurt the iris and they are better off not competing with the nut sedge. It seems pricy but compared to the results it is worth it.
