Patricia,
We see little germination until late March or early April and we are
only about 180 miles south of you in the Portland area. We plant our
seeds in pots and place the pots on a table in the back yard. (that's to
keep the slugs away). You might check with some Seattle area growers as
they will have nearly the same climate as you. We get a little colder
weather in the winter and warmer in the summer as the salt water is much
further away from us.
This last week we have seen 1" to 2" of new growth on the rowed out
iris. We had 4 days of sunny weather. The forecasted heavy rain of up to
an inch for today missed us and headed up your way. We've had no rain
and I see by the radar that you must be getting the brunt of the latest
Pacific storm.
