The University of California at Berkeley Botanical Garden has Iris douglassiana
collected from many locations. I have photos of most of them on my web
site: http://home.pacbell.net/kenww/bbg_iris/bbg_pacific_coast/BBG_douglasiana/bbg_douglasiana.html
Iris douglasiana is one of the more adaptable of the Pacific Coast iris. It likes light
shade to part sun, particularly in hot climates, and well drained soil. It does best
with fairly dry summers and mild winters, though I think some varieties have
been grown in New England.
