There are many iris classes and species and there are varying pH
for optimum growth. In my previous garden with its low natural
pH, I have seen good growth and bloom in certain beardless
classes at 5.6 pH. 

*Some bearded species also did very well, namely I. albertii, I.
pallida and I.aphylla.
