CAT: Get 'Em While They're Hot

I just returned from our local Wal-Mart, where I noticed the garden 
center was well stocked and open for business.  They finally got rid 
of all of the Christmas stuff.

The packaged 'mart' irises are back in full force.  From feeling of 
the sealed peat-moss filled bags, it is obvious that these irises have 
been out of the ground since last summer or fall.  Common sense 
says so too. Who is digging irises in the winter?   I don't think I 
touched anything in the bags that felt like a firm rhizome.

One 'new' offering I saw was P.T. BARNUM.  Others were the old 
reliables like DUSKY CHALLENGER, TITAN'S GLORY, 
STEPPING OUT, MICHIGAN PRIDE, etc.

'If I buy any of these, can I plant them now?' is the next question I 
hear.
