RE: TB cult

< So I began cultivating the topsoil at
least once
a month. I take a claw tool that is on a 5 foot pole and begin
scratching at
the surface of the soil about 6 inches away from the iris clumps. I
get the
surface crust broken up and turned over to about
an inch or two deep.>

Patrick: I do this, too, and it helps...especially in clay soil (even though amended). It also makes it easier to fertilize and water in (if needed).

To Gerry S. - Oops - I forgot about zonals. I'm sure I have some luminatas among my irises - just have to figure out which ones. Thanks!

To John in Ohio - Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience with rot.
