Linda, Patrick et al,

There are those who do and those who wish and those who are
happy where they are in climate....

Being frozen solid for at least 6 months of the year has its
advantages such as:

1) no weeds!
2) no worrying about watering the garden in a drought
3) time to take or dream about real vacations
4) time to worry about offspring that are not flowers
5) time to visit said offspring
6) plenty of time to complain about weather :-)
7) time to ski (if it is above 10 F (-12 C)
8) time to read (not gardening books)
9) time to knit (ok, ok this is not for everybody)
10) time to actually look at the mountains in all their spendlor
(see above; this is not for everybody)
11) time to look and study iris catalogues
12) time to take a course
13) time to shut-up

:-)

Ellen (freezing this morning at -29 F (-34 C) and actually not
minding my early morning commute)

P.S. happy in my snowy New England icebox
