If you are going to the convention take in the banquets.  I have been to three
conventions and all three had excellent food at the banquets.  The price is
probably better than the food you would get at any near by restaurant and your
eating with new and old friends.

By the time you pay cab fare and maybe not get the best food you will be
better off with the convention banquet. Or if you opt to stay at the hotel you
will find the meals expensive.  The Convention people have spent a great deal
of time picking the hotel, the food offerings and the facility in general so
we get the best bang for our buck.

Last but not least, you can learn about Iris from your table mates, enjoy some
new friends and have a great meal with entertainment.  Think about the thrill
of meeting a hybridizer you have purchased Iris from or hearing about a trick
that will help you with your garden and the work to be done there.  Learning
to deal with an ongoing problem in your garden from someone at your table is a
bonus you might have.

So, in general, the banquets are an important cost effective part of the
Convention.  Join all the rest of us and have a fun meal.
