Re: CAT: Joe Ghio's Bay View Gardens - New Web Site

I haven't had the opportunity to see EXPOSE in the garden, so until I do, I'm
definately leary about this iris. For me, it does nothing for me in the
picture, and I'd want to see it in a clump, in the garden. What eye appeal
does it have standing 6' foot away? Of course it's 'different', and it might
offer a lot to hybridizers who might want to work with pattern's like this.
The one that I liked was FOR THE SOUL, at least the picture was pretty... and
I hope to see it in the garden too.
Picking from pictures is certainly very risky. The year I saw Joe's VAPOR in
his catalog, it didn't catch my eye at all... and then I saw it on the
showbench... and I was impressed, so it's in my garden now... struggling to
survive. I've found that Joe's iris like more water on the average to do
well... and I should move them all to a separate Ghio-bed, so that I wouldn't
forget to water them extra.
