Hi,

Most references list I. versicolor as 2n=106 or 2n=108. Because of their
hybrid nature, C counts for beardeds are all over the place and can be tet
or dip. C counts are probably one of the least important factors unless
you're after an obvious hybrid in the first generation and don't mind
complete sterility in the seedlings.

Is the fertility of the versicolors the only reason you were considering
such a cross or do you have an idea of a new type you'd like to pursue?
