Hi Neil,
I'm usually pretty quiet on this list, but I have to throw my hat in today. I live in Roy, Utah. Only 6 blocks away from where Melba Hamblin used to live. I moved here a year after she passed away, so I never had the opportunity to meet her. I've always been interested in irises and I stumbled on a iris plant sale in Salt Lake City in 1995, (which of course, I bought way too much). I was totally hooked after that plant sale.
When I saw Carole's post I emailed her and found out that she only lives about 5 miles away from me, (and only blocks away from where I grew up). Carole and I have already corresponded, and I'll help her get all the info she needs. I thought that you all might want to know. I enjoy reading everyones emails. Catch you all later.

Linda, Melba Hamblen was in northern Utah.  I suspect there is a lively
community of iris folk around the north side of GSL.  There's a lot of
population in the Logan-Ogden area.
