This might be a good time to remind people that there is a big difference in
'show' irises and 'garden' irises. Although we enjoy the shows and they are
great for exposing the public to the newest and supposed best cultivars, AIS
awards are not based on show stalks.

The awards (H. M., A.M., Wister, etc.,) are based only on garden performance
and require garden visits by judges. Many garden visits by many judges.

Criteria for show iris and garden irises are different.
