HYB:Pod/Seed Maturation

Going through notes today. In 2005, I made a cross on May 5. On June 19, I
noticed the pod was gone. A search revealed the stalk had rotted from the
ground up and could no long support the pod. Fortunately, I was able to
recover the pod, still quite green. It hung in my office in a lace bag on my
bulletin board. An overhead fan was on much of the time.

How much of the 6 weeks had the pod been without nutrients from the plant?
No idea.

It matured sixty four seed with fifty two sprouts.

Don't pitch the pod because you think it broke off too early.
