Each year I place my ungerminated pots of seeds into the fridge,in about June, at normal fridge
?temperature. A fridge kept in the barn. Each year I get seeds germinating near the
?end of their fourth month in there, with no change of temperature.

Yes, it could be night time temperatures. I've kept a lot of notes over the
years but I've not kept a list of daily highs and lows. This past spring
was earlier but longer than usual. The first day that I checked the pots was
March 7. Several pots had sprouts. So I don't have a definitive starting
date. Most years, I haunt the pots for days before I see the first sprout.
2006
would have been a great opportunity.
I started keeping a high/low temperature log this past Dec. If I can
remember to continue it through this fall, and if I have fall sprouts, I might
be
able to answer those questions. Iris season tends to distract this type of
record keeping.
