Morning Sharon and all. The weather sure has been terrible around the world the last while. We seem to be having more snow than usual, but for my iris and other plants, it's a good thing. I sure hope your iris survive that extreme cold, Sharon. I had to look up that -80F converts to -62C, about 20C colder than our average coldest temps in southern Manitoba. Usually, it's not winter that kills my iris though, it's the spring freeze/thaw cycles after growth has started. Hopefully, that 4" of snow cover has kept your iris safe. Plus, Donald's iris look like some I've had after a rabbit or 10 have been through the garden. They don't usually chew on the iris though, when there's lots of other goodies. Luckily, my husband gets out the gun, since we're a rural property. :O El, near Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Z3 > From: SDAyres2@aol.com > Date: Thu, 3 Feb 2011 07:38:19 -0500 > Subject: [iris] [Weather] Brrrr!!!
