WELCOME to the brand new iris e-mail robin. I'm particularly happy to see
you here since you live in Region 2 - New York. I don't see you listed as a
member of AIS, however. Where did you get the irises you have? Are you
familiar with any of the catalog sources? Where did you see the "yellowish
with brown" iris that you're lookiing for? As a point of information, the
lower petal on bearded irises is called the "fall", the hairy caterpiller
thing laying on the fall is the "beard". If you do decide to join AIS, the
current issue of the Bulletin has a great list of iris terminology.
So John, welcome to the Robin. If I can help you in any way, just yank my
