Those are all names of different iris species, all beardless ones. None
of these are terribly common in the nursery trade, which is dominated by
the bearded irises, the siberians, and (to a lesser degree) louisianas,
japanese, and arilbreds.
These species have a certain "wildflower" look about them, and so have
their own groups of enthusiasts. Some are also native to particular
parts of the US, giving them a sort of regional appeal.
The only one of these I grow is Iris cristata, a little miniature that
makes a nice spreading clump in a semi-shaded area. The flowers can be
blue, violet, or white. They all have a funny little frill called a
crest where the beard would be on a bearded iris. My Iris cristata
is planted nexted to Japanese painted ferns and a small stone water
basin, where it looks very nice.
