Hi my friend Jules.  Suky loves here earrings!  Again, Thank you!  Re the web
page for Japanese irises, go to it, kid! (I hope that is a politically
incorrect expression!....well, actually, I really don't care!)  If you have
time and inclination, you might want to give Bob Bauer and John Coble a call
re this as they might have some good ideas.  Wait til you see the picture in
the April AIS Bulletin of the pink Japanese I am introducing this year for
Hiroshi Shimizu!  It is named REISYUN, and is Mr. Shimizu's first
introduction in the U.S.  Since I plan to stop, or greatly reduce, my sale of
Japanese irises after this year, Carol Warner (Draycott Gardens) has agreed
to introduce Shimizu's iris in the future.  I got a call this morning from
Joy Peters the lady...she just read where Dr. Ackerman's Japanese
introduction JOY PETERS has won an Award of Merit...and she was thrilled.  I
kidded her and told her that since JOY PETERS and SUKY both won Award of
Merit last year, perhaps they will not be able to talk to the rest of us any
more...only to each other and such ladies as BEVERLY SILLS and EDITH WOLFORD
(Of course, Edith has now won the Dykes, so maybe she can't talk to mere
Award of Merit winners!)  After Joy realized I was just kidding (politically
incorrect?) she had a good laugh!.  Best wishes, Clarence Mahan
