Iris season begins in Los Alamos!

The reticulata iris 'Violet Beauty' opened its first three blooms
today. (There's a photo of it on my web page.) So the iris season
is officially here! I know those of you in warmer climates may
find this old news, but it's a big event here in Los Alamos!
The yellow snow crocuses started about a week ago, although in
very small numbers. We've been having unseasonably warm weather
here, which no doubt encourages them.
