Yes, it's a pretty good book. It has some faults: lots of typos and
poor translation from the German. (It was one of the first books 
issued by Timber Press, before the current management came in and
made it the class act it is today.) Enjoy it, but take everything
with a grain of salt. Use _The World of Irises_ to double-check things.

These are oncocyclus (aril) species. They require special care, although
people grow them successfully in your locale. There are very few sources
of them, the Aril Society International being the prime one. If you're
interested in joining, let me know. I. susiana is extinct in cultivation,
but the other two can be found with some regularity in the society's
plant sale. If you find them attractive, it might be wise to get some
_arilbreds_ (rather than pure arils like these species) first, as they
are much easier to grow.
