dryness

Hi, all:

My experience with Beardeds in the Great Northwest (read rainy Northwest) is
that the dryer they are, the better they do. I have some under the eves of
the west side of my house in 3 terraces. The terraced iris do better than
those anywhere else (i.e those on the hillsides). I don't know why, but the
ones that do best of all are those protected from constant rain. I even have
some in small pots that I put under cover and don't water all winter that are
healthier than the ones in the garden. I would imagine that those of you in
drier climates have healthier plants. Is that true?

At what year was Kohlein's book improved. Mine is a 1987 by Timber Press,
which is where I got it. Does that make it OK?

Immortality is the only iris that has rebloomed for me.
