Interesting. The Pinetree Garden Seeds catalog has this to say about four
o'clocks:
"Mirabilis-Marvel of Peru [aka Four O'Clocks]
Japanese beetles don't consider this pretty plant so marvelous; when the
dine on it they die...."
I had already ordered some for that reason alone;but if it attracts them,
even better. I had no interest in them initially because they're a
Southern weed. But I have plenty of room for 'toxic buffets'.
