Clarence,
May I please?
Hey you guys, I thought you only wanted iris type information on the list so
I bit my tongue, tied my hands together, and turned off the computer, not to
be tempted.
Oh, get thee behind me! You asked for it.
You need:
lots of small buds (feet and hands)
lots of larger buds (heads)
hollyhock flowers in all variety of bloom
toothpicks
little girls and boys, to show them how to make the dolls.
A quilt to place on the lawn.
A thermos of iced kool aide
A large supply of sandwiches or cookies.
You are going to be here all day, so be comfortable. Once started you
won't be able to stop.
Take one toothpick, place a large bud at the top. Head.
Choose a smaller bloom, or one that has not quite opened and
place it on the toothpick below the bud. The small fleshy part should be at
the top. (Technical term?) Bodice
Stick a toothpick arm in the fleshy part of the flower to hold it about
where the shoulders should be.
Place a small bud on the end of each toothpick. Hands
Now below that bloom place another flower. A little larger than the last
Work it up under the other flower until you have the effect you want.
Continue until she has as many skirts and petticoats as you wish. The
blooms should get larger as you reach the hem of your garment.
Optional:
If you want feet on your doll work two toothpicks under the skirt and into
the center of the flower. Add a small bud on each pick for a foot.
They are the most magical dolls in the world.
Thanks Clarence.
Norma
