I have been growing Iris (Juno) bucharica for 4 years in what qualifies as
a "dry, sunny border". They have performed quite well, in fact, I should
probably lift and divided them this year as they are getting a bit crowded.
The foliage turns unsightly soon after they bloom and disappears by early
summer, so you should keep that in mind in deciding where to place them.
