Loomis' "BLUE THROAT"

Another puzzle question, perhaps of interest to the trivia buffs on this list as
well as to hybridizers & historians:

There was a Loomis seedling distributed under the garden name "Blue Throat",
which was used by several hybridizers.  It's even listed in the '59 Checklist as
unregistered -- but of course, there's no pedigree.

Anyone know more about it than I do?
