I use sawdust, wood chips (with newspaper layers underneath) on my
paths. After a couple of years I dig it under and move my iris into the
path area and create new paths where the iris rows used to be. Then in
about 3 or 4 years I do the same thing again. Seems to work for me.
Ginny - who is thinking it's about time to start looking for hydro
chipping trucks around.
