too soon to escape a frost

Hello everyone,

In town today I drove by a yard with many irises planted and there on the
corner was a bloomstalk rising about 18 inches out of the fan.  This does
not bode well for those on my exposed hill.  A few have gone into overdrive
on the growth, others are still sitting.  It's too early yet here for
bloomstalks.
