     Welcome to the Iris List.  I can't give you any technical advice, but
I do know we have a member in Oxford, Ohio who may be able to give you more
input on what will and what will not grow in your area.  
     I used to live in Lexington, KY and I did have some familiarity with
the area around Cincinnati.
