The committee planning the Society for Louisiana Irises national convention
recently sent out a mass mailing to invite many, many people to Little Rock
for our May 14-16 confab. This invitation included room reservation cards
for the DoubleTree Hotel. The idea was, folks could fill out these cards
and mail them, post-paid, to reserve rooms at our convention rate.
A simple, foolproof plan, or so we thought.
The hotel called today to ask us what they should do with the six *blank*
room reservation cards they've received. Six people have mailed back blank
reservation cards. Blank. No addresses, no credit card numbers - not even
their names. Nothing.
The hotel has no way of knowing who apparently wants these six rooms.
I suspect this means we are drawing interest from (at least six) people who
do not travel often.
Please ... if you sent a room reservation card to the DoubleTree, and if you
aren't *positive* you wrote in your name, address and credit card number,
call the hotel to straighten things out. The phone number
is 501-372-4371.
If you have properly submitted the reservation card, YOU WILL RECEIVE A
CONFIRMATION FROM THE HOTEL. If you do not get a confirmation, maybe you
did not *fill out* the reservation card.
BTW, the hotel concierge tells us this has never -- not one time ever --
happened before at DoubleTree. No other convention there has ever once
generated blank reservation cards.
We are so special. ;-)
